چکیده

Size exclusion chromatography (SEC) is a technique routinely used at high temperature to analyze the molar mass distribution (MMD) in polymers. The of comonomer along axis copolymer key microstructural feature that determines macroscopic properties material and thus its range possible applications. However, unsaturated polymers requiring dissolution temperature, measurement chemical composition (CCD) axis, have so far been hampered by lack suitable detection methods. Toward this goal, potential ultraviolet (UV) for SEC ethylene-styrene, propylene-styrene copolymers, ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymers investigated. influence experimental parameters such as analyte concentration, unsaturation content, mobile phase on spectroscopic response probed. An evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD) employed monitor combination with UV detector, quantitatively measure content MMD. A slice-by-slice UV/ELSD ratio calculated determine average each fraction after separation.

Size Exclusion Chromatography of Polymers

In the characterization of polymers, size-exclusion chromatography (SEC) has become a standard technique for determining molar mass averages andmolar mass distributions (MMD) of polymers. The principle of SEC is easily understood: owing to limited accessability of the pore volume within the particles of the column packing, polymer molecules are separated according to their hydrodynamic volumes,...

Molecular characterization of multivalent bioconjugates by size-exclusion chromatography with multiangle laser light scattering.

The degree of substitution and valency of bioconjugate reaction products are often poorly judged or require multiple time- and product-consuming chemical characterization methods. These aspects become critical when analyzing and optimizing the potency of costly polyvalent bioactive conjugates. In this study, size-exclusion chromatography with multiangle laser light scattering was paired with re...

Simultaneous Calibration of Size Exclusion Chromatography and Dynamic Light Scattering for the Characterization of Gelatin

A novel method of calibrating size exclusion chromatography (SEC or known as GPC) and dynamic light scattering (DLS or known as QELS or PCS) is proposed for the characterization of gelatin. A conventional calibration of SEC or DLS normally requires a set of narrowly distributed gelatin standards with different molecular weights. By contrast, the new method uses only one broadly distributed gela...

Size and conformation of Ficoll as determined by size-exclusion chromatography followed by multiangle light scattering.

The characteristics of the glomerular filtration barrier (GFB) are challenging to measure, as macromolecular solutes in blood may be metabolized or transported by various cells in the kidney. Urinary solute concentrations generally reflect the cumulative influence of multiple transport processes rather than the intrinsic behavior of the GFB alone. Synthetic tracer molecules which are not secret...

Improved Characterization of Sorghum Tannins Using Size-Exclusion Chromatography

Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) is a native grass species of the arid and semi-arid regions of Africa (Kimber 2000). Sorghum is a genetically diverse crop and contains some genotypes that have a pigmented testa and therefore contain tannins (Rooney et al 1980; Rooney and Miller 1982). Such lines have the dominant B1_B2_ genes and are the only sorghum types with tannins (Blakeley et al 1979)...
